Team USA on the Eve of the Gold Medal Game

Apologies for our lapse in writing, it has been a busy few days! Our quarterfinal game against the Haudenosaunee team was a scorcher! A lot of different players stepped up in the game.  Each country that we play poses a different challenge, giving us the opportunity to grow every game.

We were right back at it Friday, taking on England in the semifinals.  After a back and forth first half, we made adjustments to slow them down, and value and capitalize on our possessions.

Today we will take on Canada in the gold medal match.  This is a team we know well, having played them only four days ago.  While it's important to understand and respect our opponent, we are focusing on our team and our mission, as we have throughout this tournament.

Emotions and excitement are high here in the U.S. hallway.  We had an amazing team dinner at The Keg last night, a local hot spot.  Patrick Dempsey (aka McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy) was at the same restaurant!! The restaurant could hardly handle two groups of celebrities ;-).

It feels like Christmas Eve.  Preparations are being made, fresh coats of nail polish are being applied, and dreams of gold medals will be dancing in our heads tonight.  We have been working four years to get to this day.  Our journey is still unfinished.

Stars & Stripes Forever,
Sarah and Holly
