Bankin' On Berger:
Hi, My Name is...

What's GOOOOOD everyone? Hope everyone is excited for an exciting 2012 lacrosse season. I know I am!!

Stephen Berger here, from the new Major League Lacrosse franchise Charlotte Hounds! The past six years I have had the pure pleasure of rocking a Long Island Lizards jersey, playing for that fantastic organization and having some of the best teammates in the game of lacrosse. I will miss my summer home on the Island but am really excited about my new HOUNDS Family and making some noise in "uptown" N.C.!

Besides loving to play the game, most of my time is spent at US Lacrosse Headquarters as I represent the Men's Game and am able to give back to the sport from a behind the scenes way and truly grow the sport at a national level. I get to work in a great environment with some fantastic people and most importantly I get to work with lacrosse every day. It can't get any better than that.

Each week my goal is give you a sneak peek in the world I live in, in #cubenation at US Lacrosse as well as on and off the field as a professional lacrosse player and gearing up for a new season as a HOUND in Charlotte. I will also give you some great tips and thoughts from other players in the game on how you can improve your game this year to better prepare you for the next level as well as make sure you still have fun with this great game! Remember it's not all about winning, BUT hard work does pay off!

Finally, I also want to encourage you to send questions, comments and thoughts to me about the blog or things you may want to find out regarding what has made me the player I am today, but more importantly how the sport has shaped me as the person I am today! Without my family, education, and love for lacrosse I would not be where I am today and am so grateful for what doors it has opened and opportunities that have presented itself because of this sport. I look forward to hearing from you and please email me at honorthegame@uslacrosse.org.

Enjoy and thank you for reading...
