Report: Starsia Signed Five-Year Deal with UVA
Despite the specter of the Virginia lacrosse murder trial, Cavaliers head coach Dom Starsia signed a new five-year contract with the university Jan. 18, according to a report by the Washington Post. The deal will pay Starsia $250,000 annually and keep the four-time NCAA champion coach in Charlottesville through 2016.
The Washington Post obtained information about the new contract with a public records request that revealed Starsia could also earn longevity bonuses in 2015 and 2017, as well as competitive bonuses from the school and Nike. At any time and for any reason over the next five years, the university can reassign Starsia without cause to another position at the school, keeping in line with the terms of his previous four-year deal.
