North Carolina to Host Free Clinic

RALEIGH, N.C. – Ravenscroft School will host the University of North Carolina men's lacrosse scrimmage against Limestone University (S.C.) on Saturday, January 29 at Stefanou Field in the football stadium of the Raleigh, N.C. school.
Prior to the scrimmage, UNC coaches and players will hold a youth clinic for boys in grades one through eight from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. No prior lacrosse experience is necessary, but full lacrosse gear is requested. Both the scrimmage and the youth clinic are free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
Following the scrimmage, players will be available for autographs.
Schedule for Saturday, Jan. 29 (all events at Stefanou Field/Football Stadium on the Ravenscroft campus)
10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Youth Clinic, boys in grades 1-8
12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. UNC vs. Limestone scrimmage
1:30 p.m. Player autographs
Peter G. Voelkel, who has coached lacrosse at Ravenscroft since 2008, was athree-time All-ACC and four-time All-American selection as a UNC midfielder(1980-83). He also helped lead the Tar Heels to two NCAA Championships (1981 and 1982), and won the McLaughlin Award as the National Midfielder of the Year in 1983.
The Ravenscroft lacrosse team will also be collecting canned and dry goods for the Wake County SPCA. Please bring canned or bagged pet food to support this worthy cause.
