Steve Pontrello really wants to meet comedian Kevin
Hart. |
St. Augustine Prep (N.J.), U.S. U19 team midfielder and North Carolina recruit Steve Pontrello gives the lowdown on LeBron James and pre-game pump-up jams.
Who is your favorite athlete?
Kobe Bryant for the Lakers. He is an amazing basketball player,
and I have never seen someone do what he has done on the basketball
court in my life.
What's one thing you can't live without?
My iPod. I always need to listen to music whether I'm in the car
or training.
Who in lacrosse is destined to be a reality TV
star?
My old teammate Nate Gorman. He always had the funniest jokes and
made the team laugh at pretty much anything.
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it
be?
Meeting Kevin Hart would be really something. He makes me laugh
every time I watch him on stand-up comedy. That would definitely be
an experience.
If you could trade places with any one person for a day,
who would it be?
LeBron James. I just want to jump as high as he can and dunk.
What's one thing that always puts you in a good
mood?
My brother Eric. No matter what, that guy can make me laugh and
feel better in an instant.
Where did you go on your last vacation?
Atlantis in the Bahamas. I was on vacation with about 20 of my
family members. I went to restaurants and clubs while seeing the
Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. That was probably the most fun I've
ever had.
What's one thing lacrosse really needs?
More TV exposure. People around the country still do not know a
lot about the sport. Lacrosse in the spring should be on TV almost
every night.
It's 2022 — Where are you and what are you
doing?
Living in Florida or California. I hopefully have a great job, a
hot wife and a big house. I probably will still be associated with
lacrosse — playing or coaching.
What's been the proudest moment of your lacrosse
career?
Being on the same team as my brother for two years in high school.
Many people don't get that chance, and while it lasted it was a
great experience.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Listening to my iPod as loud as it goes to get me really pumped up
before a game.
What's your favorite moment of a lacrosse
game?
When your team scores a goal. Everyone gets fired up, and it is
one of the best feelings.
Overtime
(from U.S. U19 assistant coach Tom Duquette): If you
could play any other sport, team or individual, what sport would it
be? And who would you like to be?
I would like to play football on the Pittsburgh Steelers. I would
like to be linebacker James Harrison. He is the scariest dude ever,
and he hits very hard. It's awesome to watch that guy play.
Double Overtime
(from "L" in Baltimore): Who is your celebrity
crush?
Megan Fox.
Post a question for our next subject.
If you could have any superpower in the world what would it be and
why?
