Live Blog: Towson Hosts Georgetown, Hopes to Right Ship

A 1-2 start isn't what Towson and coach Shawn Nadelen had in mind coming off an NCAA tournament appearance a year ago, but back-to-back games against neighbors Johns Hopkins and Loyola have them in that exact spot, hoping to improve with Georgetown coming to town in another non-conference contest Saturday at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

Georgetown is 2-0 to start the season, having topped both Navy (9-8 in OT) and Mount St. Mary's so far this spring. Towson's lone win was against High Point.

Jake Haley is the reigning Big East Defensive Player of the Week for Georgetown, having backstopped both wins to start his freshman year off on the right foot. He stopped five shots in the 10-4 season-opening win over Mount St. Mary's. Haley followed with 15 saves, including six in the fourth quarter, as Georgetown defeated Navy, 9-8 in overtime. His 15 saves against Navy was the second-best total of his career. Haley finished the week with a 5.91 goals against average, a 2-0 record and a 62.5 save percentage.

Joe Seider and Greg Cuccinello lead the Tigers with five goals each, but after Wednesday's 20-4 loss at the hands of Loyola, the Tigers are averaging just more than seven goals a game, while giving up an average of more than 14.
