NCAA Men's DI Composite: Loyola, Virginia Knotted at No. 2

After an OT showdown early in February, Virginia and Loyola start March neck-and-neck at No. 2 behind Maryland in our composite of major rankings. (John Strohsacker/LaxPhotos.com)

We're into the third week of LM's composite ranking of NCAA Division I men's lacrosse, and we've added two more logs on the fire, so to speak: With teams having enough wins under their belt to make the algorithm more reflective, we're adding the LaxPower computer rankings to the composite as well as the Top 20 produced by ESPN broadcaster Eamon McAnaney.

What do all of those things mean? Maryland is all alone at No. 1 with an across-the-board domination, but Loyola and Virginia are tied at No. 2. The Cavaliers are higher in most lists, but fall to No. 12 in the computer ranking.

Each week, we will publish an aggregate of the rankings from Lacrosse Magazine, broadcaster Eamon McAnaney and Quint Kessenich's Top 20, the Warrior media poll, the USILA coaches poll and the LaxPower computer rankings.
