Other Semi: Duke into NCAA finals with 15-12 win over Denver

After playing OT spoiler to Albany's dream of a final four a week ago, Notre Dame made it through to Monday's NCAA finals with a resounding 11-6 victory over Maryland in the second semifinal on Saturday afternoon at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium. The Irish will play Duke on Monday for the NCAA crown - a rematch of Duke's 6-5 2010 NCAA finals win over Notre Dame, their first.

Matt Kavanagh was the undisputed star of the contest, scoring five goals and chipping in a pair of assists for the Irish. The Notre Dame defense also performed outstanding, holding the Terrapins to just a goal each in the final two quarters to stretch a 6-4 halftime lead into a 10-6 advantage late that had the throngs of Maryland supporters heading for the exits even before the final Irish goal with a minute left.

We'll be back with much more from this one later on LaxMagazine.com
