NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.
– The 10th-ranked Merrimack men's lacrosse team led 4-2 at halftime, but Matt Chadderdon scored twice in 47 seconds down the stretch to give #2 Le Moyne the 6-4 Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.

With the game tied at four, Chadderdon notched his first of two unassisted tallies with 4:09 remaining to give the Dolphins their first lead since the first period. Chadderdon then made it a two-goal lead with 3:16 left, putting the game away.

Turnovers doomed Merrimack in the second half, as the hosts committed 19 in the game, mostly off offensive pass sequences. The Warriors had their man-advantage chances, including a 30-second advantage with 5:19 left, but it did not result in a shot.

Merrimack trailed 2-1 midway through the first but scored three unanswered goals to close the half with a 4-2 lead behind two goals and an assist from Corey Lunney (Little Silver, NJ) and a goal each from Terence Barclay (Babylon, NY) and Mike Perdie (Wading River, NY).

Le Moyne outshot the Warriors 19-11, but Connor Reagan (East Lyme, CT) stopped five first-half shots, while Merrimack's defense emerged with numerous blocks off point-blank Dolphin opportunities.

After Vinnie Alexander notched Le Moyne's first goal since the first quarter at the 7:42 mark of the third, Jack Venditti tied it at four just 18-seconds into the fourth.

Reagan finished with nine stops, including numerous point-blank saves, featuring a stop on Chadderdon as the third quarter expired. Merrimack was otushot 35-17 in the game and managed just nine shots in the final three periods.

Merrimack (7-4, 4-3 NE-10) will host cross town rival Bentley University in a big game Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Warrior Field. The Warriors will honor its four-member Class of 2011 before the game as part of Senior Day.
