Nesdill Named Full Time Coach at Lees-McRae
from press release
BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Lees-McRae College and Director of Athletics Craig McPhail have removed the interim tag from his title and named Andy Nesdill the full-time head coach of the Bobcat men's lacrosse program, announced College officials Monday.
"Andy has come in and shown me his ability to lead and recruit for our men's lacrosse program," said McPhail. "He is an alumnus with a great sense of direction. His tireless efforts to build our program with character and discipline without sacrificing anything will soon show everyone why he is being named head coach."
Nesdill played three seasons with the Bobcats, logging over 1,300 minutes between the pipes and recording in excess of 300 saves in 32 appearances. The Phoenix, Ariz. native enjoyed perhaps his best season as a junior in 2010, making 94 saves in 10 appearances while recording a save percentage of 0.508.
"I wanted recruits to feel comfortable knowing he will be their coach for their collegiate career," said McPhail. "Anytime you can promote from within the department, it says a lot about quality. We feel we have it here at Lees-McRae College."
