McKee Resigns as Head Coach at Assumption

WORCESTER, Mass. - Mel McKee has resigned as the Assumption College men's lacrosse head coach, as announced by Nick Smith, Director of Athletics.
"We would like to thank Coach McKee for his service to Assumption College and the men's lacrosse program," said Smith. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors and will begin a national search for his successor."
Over four seasons, McKee guided the team to an overall record of 23-36, including a 3-11 season in 2012. In 2011, McKee's team set a program single-season record for victories with an overall mark of 9-7, including a 5-5 record in Northeast-10 play. The team advanced to the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament for the first time in program history and McKee was named as the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year.
Prior to his four-year stint as head coach, McKee was an assistant coach for the Greyhounds during the 2007 and 2008 seasons. His other coaching experience includes serving as the head coach at Marian High School in Framingham and Ashland High School (Mass.). McKee also worked as assistant coach at Framingham High School (Mass.) and directed the Ashland Youth Lacrosse program from 1996 to 2005.
