Scranton Jumps Out to Lead, Doesn't Look Back

Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team fell to the University of Scranton, 19-4, in the Mighty Macs' season opener Tuesday afternoon, February 24.
Immaculata begins the 2009 slate 0-1 while Scranton evens its mark at 1-1.
Brendan Dinneen posted two goals, while Zach Krytzer amassed one goal and one assist. John Cacchio tallied his first collegiate goal in the effort for the Might Macs, and Patrick Durso and Tom Hartney both registered assists.
Andrew Sim collected 17 saves in 60 minutes of work between the pipes for Immaculata.
Scranton scored the first three goals of the game, and led 9-1 at the end of the first quarter. Immaculata scored the first goal of the second period, however, the Royals scored three unanswered goals, and took a 12-2 lead into intermission.
Dinneen and Cacchio added the Mighty Macs two goals in the second half, both in the fourth quarter.
Kyle Frank and Robby Napp paced Scranton with four goals apiece, and Napp added one assist. Brett Greer amassed three goals for the hat-trick. Jeremy Dowiak started and played the first quarter in the net for the Royals, allowing two goals and making two saves to earn the win. Four Scranton goalies saw action during the contest, combining for eight saves on the afternoon.
Immaculata will be back in action on Saturday, April 7 when it travels to King's College at 2 p.m.
