SCRANTON, Pa. - Carrie Glenn, Katie Sullivan, and Alexis Willey have been named captains for Marywood University's women's lacrosse team's 2010 season according to an announcement made today by head coach Rob Brooks.  The trio will look to lead the Pacers back to the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs for the second-straight season.

Glenn, a senior defender from Rifton, NY, was named a team captain for the second-straight season after starting all 31 games for the Pacers since the program's inception in 2008.  A Second Team All-Conference selection in both 2008 and 2009, Glenn has anchored Marywood's defense for the past two seasons and ranked 7th in the country last year with 43 caused turnovers and 17th with 63 groundballs.  For her career, Glenn has tallied eight points on four goals and four assists while collecting 104 groundballs, 76 caused turnovers, and 33 draw controls.

Sullivan, a junior goalie from Merrick, NY, was selected as a team captain after being named Second Team All-Conference in 2009 after finishing the season ranked second in the nation in saves per game.  Sullivan has started 28 games for the Pacers over the past two seasons, making 392 saves, an average of 14 per game.  Sullivan has a career 15.33 goals against average and her .509 save percentage from a season ago was 35th best in the country.

Willey, a junior attacker from Hummelstown, PA, will begin her first season as a captain after appearing in 29 games over the past two seasons, including 13 as a starter in 2009.  Named to the conference's All-Academic Team the past two seasons, Willey led the team with nine assists a year ago and added 11 goals for 20 points.  For her career, Willey has registered 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points.  Additionally, the junior has picked up 16 groundballs, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers.

Marywood went 7-9 overall in 2009 and 4-3 Colonial States Athletic Conference play to earn a postseason berth before falling to Gwynedd-Mercy College in the CSAC Semifinals.  The Pacers will open the 2010 season on March 1st at Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA.
