UMF's Peters Named NAC Rookie of Week
from press release
FARMINGTON, Maine -- University of Maine at Farmington freshman men's lacrosse player Tennessee Peters (Scarborough, Maine) was honored as the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference today.
Peters scored seven goals and handed out an assist as the Beavers opened their season with a 2-1 week. The freshman took advantage of three man-up situations and scooped 15 groundballs.
Peters is the first Farmington men's lacrosse player to be honored by the NAC this season, but this is not Peters' first time receiving NAC accolades. A goalkeeper for the UMF men's soccer team, Peters was named the NAC Rookie of the Week twice (Sept. 6, 2010; Oct. 18, 2010).
The Beavers (2-1) are scheduled to visit Husson University on Saturday at 1 p.m. to open North Atlantic Conference competition.
