WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The eighth-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team jumped out to a 5-1 advantage in the first half en route to a 10-9 victory over 13th-ranked Catholic on Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Stadium.

First-year attacker Maddie McKaig (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) then scored unassisted just 16 seconds later, before the Cardinal's got on board with an unassisted goal from Kate Robinson.

Catholic (0-1) answered back with a scoring outburst of its own, netting three-consecutive goals, to slice the Generals' advantage to 5-4. McKaig added another tally with 30 seconds left in the half to make it a 6-4 game at the break.
