from staff reports
HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Colgate women's lacrosse game versus American University, last Saturday at Tyler's Field raised over $1500 in donations for the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, it was announced by Raider head coach Heather Bliss.
Colgate wore special shooting shirts donated by Brine Lacrosse and then turned around and donated $25 per shirt to help improve the quality of life for children suffering from pediatric brain tumors. Also, donations by fans were collected at the gate as well.
"We are extremely happy with how our Friends of Jaclyn game turned out," said Bliss. "It was great to see two league rivals come together for a higher cause and it really shows how much you can accomplish when you join forces. As a team, we look forward to doing more events that will benefit the Foundation."
The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation was set up in honor of Jaclyn Amanda Murphy, who was diagnosed with a medullablastoma, a malignant brain tumor in March of 2004.
