Duquesne Has No Trouble with Detroit

DETROIT - Detroit's women's lacrosse team (1-4)
returned to Titan Field Sunday afternoon for the first time since
Feb. 28, but fell to Duquesne (3-4) by a score of 20-6.
Freshman Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson) scored Detroit's first goal of the afternoon at 24:26 to put the score at 5-1. Duquesne freshman Alicia Krause found the back of the net off a free position shot about three minutes later, which ended up being the game-winning goal for the Dukes.
Freshman Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN/Totino Grace) led the Titans in scoring with three goals, while Boissonneault and freshman Rachel Iturralde (South Lyon, MI/South Lyon) added two and one, respectively, for Detroit.
Duquesne senior Ashley Wood collected a game-high six goals, while freshman Katie Rekart and junior Meghan Frederick dished out six assists each for the Dukes.
UDM freshman Brett Yenger (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) tallied seven saves on the afternoon as she played every minute in net for the Titans. Sophomore Sara Beckstead tallied two saves for the Dukes in almost 40 minutes of play, while teammate junior Caitlin Carducci collected four in 20 minutes of action.
