BURLINGTON, Vt. – Brandi Jones, who won an NCAA National Championship and three Atlantic Coast Conference titles as a player at Maryland, has joined the University of Vermont women's lacrosse coaching staff. Head coach Jen Johnson made the announcement today.
"We are very excited to have someone with Brandi's knowledge and experience join our coaching staff," said Johnson. "Brandi brings a winning mentality and great energy to our program. Her addition to the staff gives us a solid foundation to continue to build the UVM women's lacrosse program."
Jones comes to Vermont after one season as a volunteer assistant coach at San Diego State in her hometown.
A midfielder at Maryland, Jones helped the Terps win the 2010 National Championship and collect three straight ACC titles in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Jones was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team in 2011 and picked up IWLCA All-American honors in 2009, as well as earning All-ACC honors that same year.
During Maryland's championship run in 2010, Jones racked up 22 goals and 13 assists and was one of the top scoring threats for the Terps. She scored twice and handed out an assist in Maryland's win over Northwestern in the national championship game.
