Seven Notch Goals For Albany Against Binghamton

from press release

ALBANY, N.Y.- Seven different players for UAlbany recorded at least one goal in its victory over Binghamton, 10-3, on Wednesday, April 4 at John Fallon Field. Junior attack Jess Antelmi tallied four points, two goals and two assists, to improve the Great Danes record to 1-1 in the America East Conference and 8-3 overall while Binghamton falls to 0-3 in conference play and 3-7 overall.

UAlbany (8-3, 1-1 AE) opened up the first half with a four goal lead, 5-1, with 16:32 left to play in the first. Antelmi and senior midfielder Mel Rorie would each score two goals each during the run.

Binghamton (3-7, 0-3 AE) would score in the next minute to cut the deficit to three, 5-2, with 15:10 remaining. The Bearcat's Kimberley McGeever tallied her 16th goal of the season at the 15:10 mark, but that would be as close as the Bearcats would get to the Great Danes.

The Great Danes would extend their lead to five, 8-3, at the half. Rorie would record the game's only hat trick and was followed by Lexi Branningan and Nicole Eamer to end the half.

UAlbany played its best team defense of the season, as it allowed just three shots (none on net) to preserve a second-half shutout en route to the first conference win of the season. The Great Danes would score two insurance goals, one by Lexi Branningan and one by Ariana Parker, to extend the lead to eight, 10-3

The Great Danes look ahead to the Terriers of Boston University on Saturday, April 7 at John Fallon Field. Saturday's game will be televised on Time Warner Cable Sports as the game time is set for 2:07 pm.
