Levatino Scores School-Record Seven to Lead Fresno State Past Presbyterian

from press release

LOS ANGELES- The Fresno State women's lacrosse team started its season on a high note on Sunday afternoon. After gaining a lead 12 minutes into the game, the `Dogs never looked back and beat Presbyterian 17-14.

The game started in a battle, with Fresno State and Presbyterian taking turns putting the ball in the back of the net. The score stayed even until Marcy Levatino's goal at 18:32. The `Dogs led from that point on and controlled the rest of the game.

Breaking the Fresno State lacrosse record for single goals scored in a game, Levatino led the Bulldogs today, putting seven goals in the back of the net.

Six other Bulldogs scored in the team effort, including freshmen attacker Anjelica Fuccillo with four goals, and senior Sara Weber with two goals. Katie Wilbur stepped up for the defense, with eleven saves in the goal.

Starting their season at 1-0, the Bulldogs have two weeks to now prepare for their next game when they take on La Salle in San Diego on March 5.
