Entering the halftime break with the score knotted at 5-5, the Colonials (3-2) used two separate three-goal runs in the second to hold off the Bison (0-5).
Senior Nicole Lacey (3 g), sophomore Jamie Bumgardner (2 g, 1 a) and freshman Olivia Boudreau (2 g, 1 a) tallied three points each on the afternoon while junior Jordy Bathras added two goals and classmate Lindsey DiAntonio and sophomore Allie Rash chipped in one goal apiece.

The Colonials responded with a three-goal run over the next 5:33 to reclaim the lead at 4-2, but the Bison responded with three straight goals of their own that spanned 4:10 to take a 5-4 lead with 8:41 to play in the half.
Lacey found the back of the net at the 28:30 mark on a free position shot for the final tally of the half.
GW opened the second frame with three straight unassisted goals to take an 8-5 lead just over 10 minutes into action and Bucknell could not find an answer. Lacey and Bumgardner got the half going with unassisted scores in the first 3:57, and Bathras added a goal on a free position shot.
