Le Moyne Repeats as NE-10 Regular Season Champ

Syracuse, N.Y. – Senior attacker Brenna Bauer (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton)recorded five points to lead the fourth-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to an 18-6 win over Franklin Pierce University on Saturday morning in the Northeast-10 Conference regular-season finale at Ted Grant Field.

With the victory, the Dolphins clinched their second consecutive Northeast-10 Conference regular season title with a record of 11-1. Le Moyne will now host the semifinals and finals of the Northeast-10 Championships next Saturday and Sunday. In the semifinals on Saturday, the Dolphins will play at 11:00 a.m. against either fourth-seeded University of New Haven or fifth-seeded Bentley University. The Chargers and Falcons meet on Wednesday in West Haven, Connecticut at 4:00 p.m.

Franklin Pierce started the game's scoring just 90 seconds into the contest as Lauren Beville recorded an unassisted goal.

After being held scoreless for the first 6:44 of the game, the Dolphins scored four goals in a span of 2:48, including three goals in 68 seconds. Sophomore midfielder Laura Hoffman (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) tied the score at one apiece from the front of the crease after taking a pass from Bauer. Freshman attacker Claire Monnat(Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) gave the Dolphins the lead with her 18th goal of the season off a feed from Bauer with 22:19 remaining. Just 11 seconds later, Bauer tallied her 26th goal of the campaign off a pass from freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Armstrong (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego). Armstrong completed the outburst with her 12th marker of the year off a feed from Monnat.

Nicole Dale scored an unassisted goal with 19:09 remaining to pull the Ravens within 4-2, but the Dolphins scored back-to-back goals in a span of 1:09 to double their lead. Senior attacker Kelly Condon (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) found the back of the net with 17:33 remaining, while senior midfielder Jennifer Fabian (Clay, N.Y./C.W. Baker) scored into an open goal after taking a pass from junior attackerKathleen Conese (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool), who stripped the ball from the goalkeeper 10 yards from the goal.

The Ravens got the two goals back within a span of 23 seconds. Madeline Shopshire netted her 28th goal of the year with 13:43 remaining, while Courtney Weber followed by converting a free-position shot.

Le Moyne, which has won 12 straight games, the third-longest streak in the program's 20 year history, closed out the half with the final four goals of the stanza. Bauer scored the first two in a span of 32 seconds (12:20 and 11:48), while Conese tallied her 33rd goal of the season on a breakaway after causing a turnover near midfield with 6:16 left. Fabian then converted a free-position shot with 3:50 remaining for her career-best 20th goal of the year.

The Dolphins extended their run to eight straight goals by scoring four times over the opening 9:37 of the second half. Conese started the scoring in the half with an unassisted goal at the 24:30 mark to slip past Condon for 18th on the career's goal chart with 85. Senior midfielder Gabrielle Kamide (Deferiet, N.Y./Carthage)gave the Dolphins a 12-4 lead by converting a free-position shot with 21:49 left. Just 24 seconds later, Armstrong tallied her 13th goal after cutting down the center of the field. Sophomore attacker Catie McKay (Penfield, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) put Le Moyne up by 10 with a free-position goal with 20:23 remaining.

Franklin Pierce ended Le Moyne's 8-0 run and its 28-minute scoring drought as Ashley Lamagdeleine recorded an unassisted goal with 15:21 left.

Le Moyne, which finished the regular season undefeated at home for the second straight year and has won 23 consecutive home games, pushed its lead to 17-5 with three goals over a span of 4:28. Sophomore midfielder Julia Suriani (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca East) found the back of the net with 13:01 left, freshman midfielder Danielle Kealy (Lorraine, N.Y./South Jefferson) scored with 10:51 remaining and McKay netted an unassisted goal with 8:33 to play.

After Dale scored her second goal of the day off a pass from Beville with 4:28 remaining, freshman attacker Meghan Serota (Black River, N.Y./Carthage) ended the game's scoring with an unassisted goal with 19 seconds left.

Sophomore goalkeeper Molly Marbut (Edgewater, Md./South River) made five saves (against five goals) over 51:27 to earn her 14th victory of the year between the pipes. Jacqueline Jolles recorded seven saves (against 15 goals) in the loss for the Ravens.
