No. 9 UMass Advances to Atlantic 10 Final

RICHMOND, Va. - The No. 9 Massachusetts women's lacrosse team pitched a second half shutout as the Minutewomen cruised past fourth-seed Duquesne 16-3 on Friday afternoon in the Atlantic 10 Championship Semifinal at Robins Stadium. Tanner Guarino led all players with four goals helping the Minutewomen reach the Atlantic 10 Championship game for the seventh straight year.

UMass improves to 17-1 overall, while Duquesne falls to 14-4 on the season.

Guarino's four goal tally gives her 98 for her career. The Minutewomen were also led by three goals from Sam Rush who had three goals and Katie Ferris who had two goals and an assist. Erika Eipp had a goal and three assists, while Melissa Carelli had two goals. Ellie Bullitt and Katie Ott also had a goal in the win.

Rachel Vallarelli made three saves in the win.

UMass will play second-seeded Richmond in the championship game on Sunday.
