Fey and No. 10 Dowling Rock Roberts Wesleyan

Rochester, N.Y.- Two-time defending East Coast Conference champion Dowling took down the conference’s newest member, Roberts Wesleyan, 14-8, on Saturday. It is the second-straight win for the 10th-ranked Golden Lions (8-2, 2-1 ECC). 

Dowling’s Jackie Andersen led all players with five goals and two assists and Nicole Moran chipped in four goals and one assist. Alison Kendall had four goals and one assist to lead Roberts Wesleyan (6-5, 1-2 ECC).

Tina Fey made 15 saves for Dowling and Stephanie McClure made 10 saves for Roberts Wesleyan.

Dowling led 10-2 early in the second half and led 13-5 midway through the frame, before Roberts Wesleyan ended the game on a 3-1 run.

Dowling visits Mercy on Wednesday and then puts its playoff hopes on the line with a trip to No. 11 Stonehill on Saturday.

Roberts Wesleyan will look to get back in the win column on Saturday with an ECC contest against St. Thomas Aquinas.
