BALTIMORE — Two-time defending NCAA Division II women's champion LIU Post is Lacrosse Magazine's preseason top-ranked team heading into the 2014 season.

Led by senior attacker Jackie Sileo, who is already Division II women's lacrosse's all-time points leader and the NCAA's all-time leader in assists in any division, LIU Post hasn't lost a game since 2012.

The Pioneers return many key players in midfielder Katie Rotan and defender Melissa Rohr, among others.

LIU Post went 20-0, and won the ECC in 2013. The season culminated with a 10-7 win over Limestone in the national title game, after a thrilling 7-6 semifinal victory over Long Island rival Adelphi.

Adelphi is ranked second, followed by Northeast-10 foe Le Moyne. Southern power Limestone is fourth, and Lock Haven, out of the PSAC, completes the top five.

The rankings were compiled by Lacrosse Magazine staff after consultation with college coaches.

Lacrosse Magazine will continue its 2014 college lacrosse preview throughout January and into February, with team-by-team breakdowns of the top teams in NCAA Division I, II and III men's and women's lacrosse. Follow the countdown at LaxMagazine.com/LMRanks and on twitter at #LMRanks.
