ITHACA, N.Y.
-Behind a 7-1 game-ending run, the women's lacrosse team upset Stevens 13-11 Saturday afternoon at Carp Wood Field. The Ducks (8-2, 3-1 Empire 8) are ranked 10th in the nation. With the win, the Bombers (5-3, 4-0 Empire 8) take sole control of first place in the conference. Freshman Tracy Rivas (East Meadow/East Meadow) led the Bomber offense , netting a career-high five goals.

Stevens surged into the second half, breaking a 6-6 tie with four goals in the first eight minutes of the period. The Ducks would score just once more in the half, and Ithaca netted six straight goals to take a 12-10 lead. Rivas scored three of the goals, with sophomore Nicole Borisenok (Albany Academy for Girls/Watervliet) adding two and senior Kylie McClure (Upper Arlington/Columbus, Ohio) scoring once.

Stevens pulled the deficit back within one with a goal with just eight minutes to play, but an Ithaca score from freshman Kim Armbruster (Montville/Boonton, N.J.) pushed the Bomber lead back to two with 6:20 to play. Ithaca kept control of the ball for most of the remainder of the game, not allowing a Stevens shot over the final seven minutes of play while causing three Ducks turnovers.
