F&M Rebounds with Win over Babson

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Fourth-ranked Franklin and Marshall rebounded from an upset loss to Messiah at Spring Fling to defeat 19th-ranked Babson 12-7 in the tournament's consolation game Thursda.
F&M had nine different players account for goals. Erin Dunne scored a pair of goals and added both of the Diplomats' (4-1) assists in the victory. All of her points came in the second half. The Beavers (2-3) got a hat trick from Colleen Mitchell.
Dunne was one of three Diplomats with a pair in the game. Maggie Mae Shields and Mary Mitchell each scored twice. Both of Mitchell's goals game from the eight-meter mark. Her first of the day gave F&M a lead it did not relinquish. The second stood as the game-winner. In addition to her goals, Shields won three draws. F&M owned a 13-8 advantage on the draw circle.
The Diplomats outshot Babson 25-11. The Beavers Sarah Macary was credited with seven saves. Rebecca Rosen worked the first half for F&M allowing four goals. Kelsey Hoffman worked the second half. She allowed three and recorded the Diplomats only save in the game.
F&M returns to action on Saturday for the Centennial Conference opener against Muhlenberg.
