Gettysburg's Lutz Named Centennial POW

LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior Becky Lutz (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) of the Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team was recognized as the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, March 21.
Lutz helped the fifth-ranked Bullets post a 2-1 record last week, including a decisive victory in the team's Centennial Conference opener against Haverford College. She led the squad with eight caused turnovers and six draw controls en route to her first career weekly honor.
In a 13-8 win over No. 10 Stevens Institute of Technology, Lutz posted four caused turnovers and corralled three draw controls. She closed the week by posting three ground balls, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers as Gettysburg disposed of Haverford 15-5. Lutz held the conference's leading scorer, Josie Ferrir, to a season-low one goal in the game.
Lutz will lead the Bullets into another match up with a ranked opponent as the team hosts No. 14 Catholic University on Wednesday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m.
