from press release
LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior Laura McIntyre (Glenmoore, Pa./Coatesville) was named Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week, while sophomore teammate Lindsey Robinson (Potomac, Md./Holton-Arms) copped the weekly offensive award for the Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team on Monday.
McIntyre and Robinson played key roles in a 2-1 week for Gettysburg that saw the squad remain perfect in conference play. McIntyre posted a pair of victories as the Bullets' starting goalkeeper, both against Centennial foes. She netted a personal best for saves in each contest, registering eight in a 13-6 win over Dickinson College and putting up 10 in a 16-7 win at Swarthmore College. For the week, she saved 61.2 percent of the shots she faced and logged a 6.12 goals against average.
McIntyre was the third Bullet to net weekly defensive honors from the conference this spring, joining freshman Kelly Spieker (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) and senior Becky Lutz (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand).
Robinson was named Offensive Player of the Week after pacing Gettysburg's offense with nine goals and 13 points in three games. In the two conference games, she posted six goals and four assists, including a seven-point effort at Swarthmore. Robinson also led the squad with three goals in an 8-7 setback to top-ranked College of New Jersey.
Gettysburg (7-2, 4-0 CC) resumes conference play at McDaniel College (1-9, 1-4 CC) on Wednesday, April 6, at 4 p.m.
