Salisbury Women Rebound with Rout of Wesley

DOVER, Del. – The fourth-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team picked up an 18-2 victory over Wesley College in the Capital Athletic Conference finale for each team.
With the victory, the Sea Gulls (13-2, 7-0 CAC) claim the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CAC tournament (April 16-23); as the top-seed, SU receives a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs.
The Wolverines (6-10, 1-6 CAC) tallied the game's first goal, as Mia Brocco recorded an unassisted goal at the 26:37 mark. The Sea Gulls responded with the next 10 goals, including four from freshman midfielder Shelby Nemecek and three goals from sophomore attacker Roxanne Raab. Brocco ended the run with 4:55 remaining in the half, before Salisbury closed out the period with two goals to extend the lead to 13-2 at the half.
The second half featured just five goals, with the maroon and gold finding the back of the net each time. Junior midfielder Mackenzie White recorded two goals in the second stanza.
Raab posted a game-high nine points in the victory on four assists and a personal-best five goals. White (two goals, three assists) and sophomore attacker Maggie Roundy (one goal, four assists) each recorded five points.
SU sophomore goalkeeper Ashton Wheatley notched her second victory of the season, as she finished with three saves in 60 minutes of action.
Wesley goalkeeper Alyssa Batty collected nine saves.
