Gettysburg's Church Earns Weekly Honor

LANCASTER, Pa.
– Junior Hannah Church (Ellicott City, Md./Mount de Sales) was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week following a stellar performance for the Gettysburg women's lacrosse team last week.

Church put in a team-high 15 goals in three games last week and nearly out-scored Gettysburg's three opponents by herself. She needed just 26 shots (.577 percent) to reach her goal total and she hit 7-of-9 free-position shots. She also added one assist and four draw controls.

Church connected on five goals in a 16-11 victory against No. 11 Catholic University on April 12. She added four more the following day in an 18-1 win at Alvernia University. In a Centennial match up with Washington College on April 17, Church tossed in a career-high six goals and added one assist as the Bullets on easily 20-4.

The Ellicott City, Md., native leads Gettysburg with 45 goals and is tied for the team lead with 51 points. She has scored a goal in 20-straight games and is just two shy of 100 for her career.

Sixth-ranked Gettysburg (12-2, 7-0 CC) will do battle with seventh-ranked Franklin & Marshall College (13-2, 7-0 CC) on Wednesday, April 20, at 7 p.m.
