Mid-Atlantic Region Boys' Preseason Top 10

1. Boys' Latin (Md.)
The Lakers boast 19 players committed to NCAA Division I programs and were ranked No. 1 nationally for most of last season. They are the preseason favorite.

2. Haverford School (Pa.)
The Fords caught fire at the end of last season and enter the year loaded with young talent, including senior Peter Blynn.

3. Georgetown Prep (Md.)
The 2013 IAC co-champion boasts a talented roster and plays a tough schedule, which should have it in the hunt for a No. 1 ranking.

4. St. Paul's (Md.)
The Crusaders return seven starters from a team that finished 15-5 last season. Attackman Mikey Wynne set several school single-season records last year and returns to the lineup.

5. McDonogh (Md.)
The Eagles return eight starters from last year's playoff squad and boast one of the tougher schedules in the nation with games against Haverford School (Pa.) and Culver Academy (Ind.).

6. Malvern Prep (Pa.)
The defending Inter-Ac champion returns several key players from last year, including defenseman Greg Pelton and attackman Ryan Hilburn.

7. Landon (Md.)
Six starters return to the Bears lineup, including Jack Falk and Jack Bolen. The loss of Andrew Mitchell to a football injury will leave the defense a little thin.

8. Conestoga (Pa.)
The Pioneers did not have their best year in 2013, but return several players from a team that still managed to reach the PIAA championship game.

9. Delbarton (N.J.)
The Green Wave had a sudden end to 2013, but returns six starters, including Chad Otterman on defense and Peter Welch at long-stick midfield.

10. Gonzaga (D.C.)
The four-time WCAC champion has just two starters back from last year, but does boast several underclassmen who already are committed to colleges and who have been waiting for their turn to play.
