Nike/US Lacrosse National High School Boys' Top 25

A perfect season and MIAA A Conference crown helped Boys' Latin take home all eight first-place votes to edge Culver (Ind.) for the top spot in the final Nike/US Lacrosse National High School Boys' Top 25 poll after a sparkling 18-0 season. Culver also finished unbeaten at 23-0, as did No. 3 Malvern Prep (Pa. - 24-0) and No. 5 Darien (Conn. - 23-0). Georgetown Prep went 19-1 but its IAC title landed it at No. 4.

Twelve of the 25 teams were champions of their respective league or state classification, with Culver a noteworthy exception (due to the nature of the Indiana state playoffs and their private school status.) The highest non-championship winning team besides the Eagles was Maryland's St. Paul's, which ran to the MIAA finals but fell to No. 1 Boys' Latin. WCAC champion Gonzaga made the biggest jump this week, riding its crown into the Top 10 at No. 7 after last week's No. 13 status, sliding other deserving teams down a spot in the only significant movement of the final poll.

All in all, Maryland anchored the Top 25 with eight entrants, including five of the Top 10. New York placed seven, anchored by No. 10 Chaminade, champion of the CHSAA. Connecticut had three entries, with Pennsylvania and New Jersey with two each. Indiana, Washington D.C. and Florida had one each make the final cut.

Voters in the Nike/US Lacrosse Top 25 polls include Lacrosse Magazine writers and US Lacrosse area representives in the field. This is the final week of the poll, but Region Roundups and Players of the Year from each of the five regions will come out next week.
