Dillon Schoen, Darien, Conn.
The freshman scored five goals in the Blue Wave's 15-5 win against Daniel Hand in the Connecticut Division M title game.

Northeast Region Top 10

1. Garden City (N.Y.) – 21-0 – A 12-6 win over Brighton gave the Trojans their sixth straight New York State Class B championship.
2. St. Anthony's (N.Y.) – 16-2 - A 20-5 triumph against second-seeded Sacred Heart (N.Y.) gave No. 1-seeded St. Anthony's its fourth straight CHSAA championship.
3. Northport (N.Y.) – 20-2 – Shannon Gilroy scored four goals in the Tigers' win over Pittsford in the Class A state title game.
4. Westwood (Mass.) – 22-0-1 – Westwood handled Needham 14-8 to win the Division 1 South Sectional title for the fifth straight year.
5. West Genesee (N.Y.) – 19-1: West Genesee's season ended with a 9-7 loss to Pittsford in the Class A state semifinals.
6. Farmingdale (N.Y.) – 16-2 – The Dalers fell to eventual Class A state champion Northport (N.Y.) 14-7 in the Long Island Class A championship game.
7. Hauppauge (N.Y.) – 19-1 – The Eagles lost just once – against six-time state champion Garden City in the Long Island Class B title game .
8. Londonderry (N.H.) – 19-1 – A 10-9 win against Concord gave the Lancers their third straight state title.
9. Pittsford (N.Y.) – 21-1 – The Panthers fell just shy of a state title, falling 11-10 to Northport (N.Y.) in double overtime.
10. Manhasset (N.Y.) – 14-4 – The Indians fell to archrival Garden City for the second time this season, losing 15-10 against the Trojans in the Nassau County Class B championship game.

News and Notes

Garden City won a New York State record – for boys or girls – sixth straight state title by beating Brighton 12-6 in the Class B championship game at Cortland State University. Mikaela Rix and Catherine Dickinson had three goals apiece, Caroline Tarzian had two goals and two assists and goaltender Kelly Weis made 10 saves and was named tourney MVP for the Trojans... A goal by Cortney Fortunato with a second left in the second overtime period lifted Northport to an 11-10 win against Pittsford in the New York State Class A title game... Sophie Racciatti scored with just under a minute to play to lift Christian Brothers Academy of Syracuse to its first-ever New York State title, a 9-8 win over Mount Sinai in the Class A championship game. ... Junior midfielder Kate Rich had five goals and an assist as Westwood (23-0-1) beat Nedham 14-8 to win the Massachusetts Division 1 South title for the fifth straight season. ... Weston won the Connecticut Division S title 7-6 over Granby, snapping a 6-6 tie on a goal by Catie Ledwick with 1:01 to play. ... Darien beat Daniel Hand 15-5 to take the Connecticut Division M crown. ... A 12-10 win over Glastonbury gave Greenwich its first Connecticut Division L championship in six years.
