FIL Pool Play Complete; Medal Round Begins Wednesday

Pool Play is complete at the FIL World Cup, with Team USA taking the overall top seed for the medal round after a 13-2 win over host Canada on Tuesday evening to close out their preliminary schedule. The USA, Canada, Australia and England all earned first-round byes and an off-day on Wednesday.

Japan, which is the only team besides the US to finish pool play unbeaten, topped fellow unblemished Israel on Tuesday afternoon by a tight 12-11 mark in overtime, which saw Yoku Kobori score the game-winner in extra time. They finished atop Pool C at 5-0 and will face Scotland (4-1) in the knockout round.
