Bayhawks Scoop Hurley from Player Pool

from press release

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) strengthened their offense today and claimed attackman Ryan Hurley from the MLL Player Pool according to General Manager Spencer Ford.

Hurley, a Cornell graduate, is a two-time All-American and a two-time All-Ivy selection. In 2010, the attackman was ranked first in the Ivy League for goals with 47 and second in the Ivy League for points with 60 including 13 assists. During his career with the Big Red, Hurley tallied a total of 178 points with 139 goals and 39 assists.

The rookie selection will spark new energy for the team and challenge the veteran attackmen once training camp begins in the spring. Hurley was undrafted during both the 2010 MLL Collegiate Draft and the 2010 Supplemental Draft but will work to earn his way onto the 23-man roster during training camp.

"Ryan Hurley had a tremendous career at Cornell," Ford said. "There are not many players out there who can score in the mid to high 40's year in and year out and Ryan is one that was able to. He is a very consistent player who will work well with our players and who fits into our style of play."
