USA Hopeful Farrell Among Recent MLL Trades
|Brian Farrell joined fellow USA
hopefuls Michael Simon and Brendan Mundorf in changing teams so far
With the championship out of the way, Major League Lacrosse teams are wasting no time in beginning the process of shaping their rosters for the summer of 2014, as several players have changed hands.
Boston just sent defender/LSM Brian Farrell to the Chicago Machine in exchange for Diogo Godoi and a draft pick. Yesterday, the champion Bayhawks sent rookie Domenic Sebastiani and a draft pick to the Denver Outlaws in exchange for Brian Megill. That move was preceded by last week's blockbuster deal, also between the Bayhawks and Outlaws, that saw John Grant Jr., Michael Simon and a draft pick sent west in exchange for attackman Brendan Mundorf.
Farrell, who recently made it through to the Team USA 52-man training roster for the fall, just finished his third season with the Cannons after being selected 12th overall in the 2011 Collegiate Draft. In that span he played in 31 games, scooping 74 groundballs and recording 23 points, winning a championship his rookie season.
Godoi was selected 13th overall in the 2010 Collegiate Draft. In two seasons with Chicago and two with Rochester, he has appeared in 28 games, scooping 36 groundballs. The Machine also shipped their natural third round selection (17th overall) to Boston in exchange for Farrell.
Megill was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2013 draft and appeared in 10 games for the Outlaws, scooping 28 groundballs and adding an assist for the semifinalists.
Sebastiani appeared in six games for the Bayhawks including the championship game after being selected with the No. 32 overall pick this spring. He will be joined in Denver by the No. 8 overall pick in the 2014 Collegiate Draft.
The draft will take place on January 10th, 2014 in Philadelphia.
