Duch Ends OT Stalemate; Stealth Wins

DENVER -- The Washington Stealth (1-0) defeated the Colorado Mammoth (0-1) 11-10 in overtime on Saturday night at the Pepsi Center in Denver in front of 17,029 fans.

Stealth forward Rhys Duch scored the game winning goal 9:59 minutes into the overtime period to end the game. Duch also had two other goals earlier in the evening.

The Stealth opened the scoring up just 12 seconds into the game with an unassisted goal by Mike Grimes. Jeff Zywicki notched a hat trick and Kyle Hartzell added two goals.

Stealth goaltender Matt Roik stopped 40 of the 50 shots he faced in net. John Grant led the Mammoth with seven points (4g, 3a) in his Denver debut.

The Stealth take the field again tonight at home against the Calgary Roughnecks at 8 pm ET. Colorado plays its next game in Calgary on January 15.
