Mammoth Ink Three Players
from press release
DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth announced today that it has re-signed forward Joel Dalgarno and defenseman Matt Leveque, and has agreed to terms with goaltender Tye Belanger, a 2011 2nd-round draft pick. All contracts are pending league approval.
"Matt has been a part of this organization since our championship season in 2006, and has been a reliable defender for us for years," said Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett. "Joel, on the other hand, was a trade-deadline acquisition back in March. In a very short time last season, he showed flashes of brilliance. We're eager to see what he can do over the course of a season, given the chance to play night-in and night-out."
Leveque, the team's preeminent face-off man in 2011 despite having never taken draws previously in his career, won them at a 47% clip while appearing in every game. Dalgarno poured in 12 goals and 10 assists in seven games after being acquired by Colorado in a trade with Washington on March 15.
Belanger was selected 16th overall by the Mammoth in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft. Upon receiving his contract, the second goaltender picked in September said he was "on top of the world right now!"
Dalgarno and Belanger signed two-year contracts, while Leveque's is for one season.
