Mammoth Releases Training Camp, Preseason Schedules

from press release

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth announced today that the team has released its training camp and preseason schedules, highlighted by four scrimmages, two of which are inter-squad match-ups that are free and open to the public. The three-weekend training camp, which begins on Friday, December 2, marks the team's official kick-off of its 10th anniversary season.

"After a long off-season, I'm ecstatic that training camp is just a couple weeks away," said Mammoth President & General Manager Steve Govett. "As a special 'thank you' to our great fans, the Mammoth is providing them with the opportunity to watch us play two scrimmages for free."

The team's first official practice will be on the afternoon of December 2. The following night, fans and media are invited to Parker Fieldhouse (18700 E. Plaza Dr. / Parker, CO) at 8:30pm MST for the first of two inter-squad scrimmages. On Sunday morning, the team plays again at the Fieldhouse at 8:00am MST.

Mammoth training camp session #2 will be held in Vancouver from December 9-11, highlighted by a game against the arch-rival Calgary Roughnecks at Langley Events Centre (Langley, B.C.) on Sunday morning. The third session, in Seattle, Washington, includes a scrimmage against the Washington Stealth at Comcast Arena on Saturday, December 17.

The team must trim its roster (by more than a dozen) to the final 23 by Thursday, December 22. Currently featuring five of the first 16 picks (and eight overall) from the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, it promises to be a very competitive selection process.

"I'm excited to see what our draft picks and off-season acquisitions are able to bring to the team," said Mammoth Head Coach Bob Hamley.

The Colorado Mammoth opens the 2012 season against the Minnesota Swarm on "Brian Langtry Night" on Saturday, January 14 at 7pm MST on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center.
