BALTIMORE — US Lacrosse today opened online registration for the 2013 US Lacrosse National Convention, presented by Champion, at www.uslacrosse.org/2013convention. Lacrosse coaches, officials and administrators can register for the sport's largest educational and networking event, set for Jan. 11-13 in Philadelphia, for the early-bird rate of $85 through Nov. 25.
Membership in US Lacrosse is required to attend the convention. Non-members may begin an annual membership in US Lacrosse at the time they register. Online registration will continue Nov. 26-Dec. 28 for $105. On-site registration at the Pennsylvania Convention Center Jan. 10-12 is $150. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more members that register together.
"The professional development events and materials that we provide our members are perhaps the most important benefits of membership in US Lacrosse, as they help adults make lacrosse participation a positive, character-building experience for athletes from the youth level through college," said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse. "There is no single better place for lacrosse coaches, officials and administrators to become better at what they do than at our annual convention. We're looking forward to another great weekend in Philadelphia."
Exhibitors wishing to secure space in the convention's exposition hall also may register at www.uslacrosse.org/2013convention. Online exhibitor registration closes Dec. 1, and there is no on-site registration for exhibitors. Booth sizes vary, and prices start as low as $1,050. More than 140 exhibitors from a diverse spectrum of industries set up shop at the 2012 convention, making the expo hall the largest in lacrosse annually.
The US Lacrosse National Convention is comprised of approximately 150 educational sessions, many of which occur on two indoor turf fields. Two-time Super Bowl coach Dick Vermeil will deliver the keynote address at 7 p.m. Jan. 11. The US Lacrosse Sports Medicine Symposium, the Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft, business meetings, the expo hall, and the US Lacrosse Fan Fest, which opens the expo hall to the public Jan. 12, also highlight the convention, which drew a record 7,064 participants in 2012.
US Lacrosse has secured discounted rooms for convention attendees and participants at the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott, which is adjacent to the Pennsylvania Convention Center and will host some convention activities.
