Lamb Named Director of Lacrosse at Notre Dame
from press release
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Jason Lamb has joined the University of Notre Dame men's lacrosse operations staff. Lamb comes to Notre Dame from Adams State College in Colorado.
Lamb was hired as the Director of Lacrosse at Adams State College (ASC) in February of 2010 to oversee the start-up of the ASC men's and women's lacrosse programs. Last season, the Grizzly men and women opened their inaugural season as members of the newly formed Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (WILA).
During the summer of 2011, Lamb was invited to join the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse as a summer assistant coach. His connection with the Outlaws helped lead to an opportunity for the Grizzlies to play WILA rival Colorado Mesa at Mile High Stadium during the spring of 2011.
Prior to his stint at ASC, Lamb was the head coach of the Brigham Young University men's lacrosse team from 1995-2009. At BYU, he posted a 213-69 (.755) record and guided the club program to three Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) championships and claimed seven Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference titles. Lamb was named the 2006 MCLA Coach of the Year and he served as the president of that organization from 1997-2003.
"We are really excited with the addition of Jason Lamb," says Notre Dame head coach Kevin Corrigan. "We like his experience and his entrepreneurial spirit and his enthusiasm for lacrosse. He will be a great fit for our program."
In his new position at Notre Dame, Lamb will be in charge of the logistics surrounding the team's travel, film, equipment, scheduling, sponsorship, camps/clinics and will also help with improving the experience of the players.
"I'm honored to be a part of the Irish staff," says Lamb. "Working closely with coach Corrigan and his assistants is an incredible opportunity. I look forward to being a part of the great lacrosse tradition in South Bend and I believe 2012 will be another great year for Notre Dame lacrosse. I'm excited to be a part of this year's run to Memorial Day weekend."
Lamb and his wife, Megan, have five children, Emily (Utah State University women's lacrosse team), Derek (Adams State College men's lacrosse team), Devan (student at BYU-Idaho), Jacob (10th grade) and Shawn (8th grade).
