Rutgers Sets Date for Annual Alumni Game
from press release
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's lacrosse program announced Wednesday that its annual Doc Peterson Alumni Game has been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22. The day will include a pair of contests, first pitting the current team against young alumni and also an alumni-only game. The events will take place on the F3 Turf Field adjacent to High Point Solutions Stadium.
Second-year head coach Brian Brecht noted that the alumni game is an important part of his program's preparations for the spring season, while also paying homage to RU's proud lacrosse tradition.
"As we begin to start our fall practices, I am excited with the playing opportunities our program will have this fall," Brecht said. "Our annual Doc Peterson Alumni Game will be an excellent opportunity to have many great Rutgers players back on campus to catch up, as well as meet the 2013 team. I would like to welcome all Rutgers Lacrosse alumni back on campus for our alumni game."
Times and other specifics will be announced on ScarletKnights.com.
Brecht additionally would like to encourage Rutgers men's lacrosse alumni and fans to attend the Rutgers Lacrosse Community Tailgate on Saturday, Oct. 13 prior to Rutgers football's game vs. Syracuse. Beginning three hours prior to kickoff (TBD), the tailgate will take place with the new Block R Party area in Athlete's Glen, which is just steps away from the Scarlet Walk.
