Douglass Named CAC Player of Week

YORK, Pa. - After back-to-back win overs top-10 opponents last week, the Stevenson men's lacrosse team swept the CAC player of the week awards on Monday as freshman Tony Rossi (Towson/Calvert Hall) was named Offensive Player of the Week and senior Evan Douglass (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Rossi totaled five goals in wins over No. 9 Roanoke and No. 4 SUNY Cortland while Douglass totaled seven caused turnovers and seven ground balls.
Rossi started the week with a pair of goals in a 16-6 road win at Roanoke on Wednesday before tying his career-high with three goals, including the game-tying and game-winning goals in the final 10 minutes of Saturday's 10-8 victory over Cortland at home.
Doulass had four caused turnovers and four ground balls at Roanoke before adding three caused turnovers and three ground balls versus Cortland, including his 100th career caused turnover, further increasing his school record.
Stevenson hosts No. 1-ranked and defending national champion Tufts on Wednesday beginning at 4:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live at GoMustangSports.com and tape delayed in the Baltimore area on WBAL Plus at 8:00 p.m. WBAL Plus is available on digital 11-2, Comcast 208 and Verizon Fios 460.
