Albion Names Quad Captains
from press release
ALBION, Mich. - The Albion College Lacrosse team has elected junior midfielder Jamie Kehoe (Clinton Township/ De La Salle) and sophomore attackman Stephen Treppa (Clinton Township/ L'anse Creuse) to serve as captains during the 2012 campaign. Sophomore captains Ian Monkman (Pleasant Ridge/University of Detroit Jesuit) and Tyler Kilpatrick (Rochester Hills/Rochester Adams) will be joined by Kehoe and Treppa, as the band of four will be entrusted with the responsibility of leading the young Briton program in its third season.
Jamie Kehoe has been a presence for the Briton offense since the first days of the program. Always a team player, Kehoe led the team in assists with 12 last season, and is a critical cog that helps keep the Briton offense running.
Stephen Treppa made an immediate impact in the program last season seeing time at both attack and midfield during his freshman year. Treppa returns for his sophomore season as one of the Britons most consistent contributors on offense. He ended his freshman season with 9 goals and 7 assists.
Ian Monkman returns to Albion after an impressive freshman season, starting in all but two games in the goal. Monkman posted a save percentage of over 50% in his debut season. Monkman, who served as captain as a freshman, brings intensity and grit to the defense. His leadership helped anchor a young team, and was a vocal presence on the field.
Tyler Kilpatrick will look to build on his freshman year, which was cut short due to injury. Despite the short season, he led the team in scoring with 16 goals while missing the last 6 games of 2011. Kilpatrick's leadership helped set the tone this fall, and he returns as one of the most competitive and determined players on the team. The Britons will continue to look for Kilpatrick on offense this spring.
