Delfausse Resigns Position at Berry
from press release
MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- Chris Delfausse has resigned his position as head men's lacrosse coach, Berry College announced. He has accepted the head boy's varsity coach/youth director post at Westlake High School near Austin, Texas.
In 2013, he led the Vikings to a 13-5 record. In just its third year of competition, Berry earned Southern Athletic Association regular season co-championship. BC then lost to Sewanee in overtime in the inaugural SAA championship game this past April.
Delfausse started the men's program at Berry in 2010. In his tenure, his teams compiled a 24-23 record.
Delfausse joins a Westlake program that finished 14-4 last year and was founded in 1988. WHS competes in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL), which is made up of more than 45 high school teams in Texas and Louisiana.
"This was definitely a bittersweet decision for me and my family," Delfausse said. "We are very excited about the opportunity and relocating, but it was not an easy to decision. Starting a program from scratch and building relationships with the people at Berry--especially my players—was tough to give up."
Berry will begin a nationwide search for a new head men's lacrosse coach.
