Westminster Heading to Colorado for Two

SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's lacrosse team travels to Colorado for two road contests this week. Westminster begins the trip at Mesa State on Friday, April 15 at 7 p.m. They will then face RMLC opponent Western State on Saturday, April 16 at noon.
Westminster begins the trip at 8-6 overall this season and 1-0 in RMLC West games. They are 3-1 in road games this season and 5-5 overall in games away from Dumke Field. The Griffins are just 1-3 in the last three games including an 8-5 loss at Utah on Tuesday.
Josh Condas currently leads Westminster with 35 points. The senior has scored 22 goals while adding 13 assists. Jake Arthur has scored a team-best 30 goals with Jacob Wayman leads the team with 20 assists. Andy Lehr and Gian Sexsmith has each totaled above 20 points with 26 and 22 respectively. Dallas McLellan has recorded 133 save sin the Griffin cage.
Westminster is ranked No. 11 in this week's Prodigy Division II Coaches' Top 25 poll. They earned 297 points in the poll to remain in the same position as last week. They sit No. 9 in the Adidas/MCLA The Lax Mag Top 23 poll that was released on April 11. The Lax Power computer rating has the Griffins ninth with a rating of 69.90.
The 2011 Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference Tournament will be held from May 5-7 in Grand Junction, Colorado. Mesa State in the host of the event. The Division II quarterfinals are scheduled for May 5 between the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds from each division. Those two winners will advance to the semi-finals on May 6 against the two division winners. The two semi-final winners will play for the MCLA automatic berth on May 7.
Westminster will conclude the 2011 regular season with a game at Utah Valley on Saturday, April 23. The game will be played in Orem, Utah and begin at 1 p.m.
