Secora Goes for 10 Points, Denver Rolls
from press release
DAVIS, Calif. - University of Denver women's lacrosse redshirt sophomore Kara Secora (Denver, Colo.) tied DU's single-game record with seven assists and added a hat trick, as the Pioneers rolled past Fresno State 18-7 on Monday afternoon.
Entering this season, Denver had only five performances of at least 10 points in a game. Secora's 10 today marked the third time in the last four games that she had accomplished the feat, including a career-high 11 points yesterday.
Sophomore Alex Befus (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored her first of three goals just 18 seconds into the game, and the Pioneers (5-10, 3-1 MPSF) jumped out to an 8-1 lead that would prove insurmountable.
Denver dominated the Bulldogs (0-12, 0-6 MPSF), outshooting FSU 37-12.
The Pioneers have scored 18 goals in each of three meetings with the Bulldogs, winning 18-1 in 2009 and 18-2 in 2010.
Denver returns home for its final two games of the regular season, beginning with a matchup against California on Saturday at 1 p.m. MT.
