Freshman Ventimiglia Leads JU Past Detroit

from press release

Freshman Holly Ventimiglia scored three goals and four teammates added two apiece as the Jacksonville women's lacrosse team cruised past Detroit Mercy, 20-5, in the National Lacrosse Conference opener for both teams Tuesday.

Senior Corina Mahorn led Detroit with two goals, but it was not enough as the Titans dropped their second game in Florida. Jacksonville (2-1, 1-0 NLC) started the game with five straight goals in the first four minutes of play before Mahorn snapped that run. JU continued to find its offense scoring another five in a row to pull out of reach.
