After Duquesne jumped out to a two-goal lead early in the first half, the Colonials responded with two goals of their own to even the score – all in the game's first 20 minutes. Senior Courtney Sicinski (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West) opened the night for RMU with her eighth goal of the year with 25:56 left in the first half after being set up by freshman Jessica Rutherford (Pylesville, Md. / North Harford). But the lead would not last. Duquesne (4-3, 0-0 Atlantic 10) would score four-straight goals to reclaim the lead before sophomore Talia Waskowicz (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) ended the Dukes' run with her 10th goal of the year at 27:01 of the second half. Lawler (Okemos, Mich. / Okemos) would add a pair of second-half goals (22:44, 8:30) to give the Colonials six on the night, but the hosts would increase their goal total to 12 as regulation came to an end.
